Introduction of examples of maintenance and conservation practices
Here is a case study of repair of table movement in the left-right direction on a general-purpose grinding machine.
The target machine uses roller bearings for the left and right feeds.
The slide has a "V-V" structure, with two bearings on each side, two on the left and two on the right, for a total of four bearings.
After checking the slide surface with a strainer and correcting it by lapping, a level is placed on the table to check the movement.
If the table movement feels rough, the roller bearings need to be replaced.
