A sliding part is a part that slides while rubbing relative to each other, such as a shaft and a bearing part. Sliding parts include rotational sliding parts such as sliding bearings, surface sliding parts such as thrust bearings, and sliding parts such as splines. All sliding parts require lubrication, and if lubrication is insufficient, seizure will occur in the bearing part and sticking will occur in the spline part. Insufficient lubrication will cause seizure in the bearings and sticking in the splines, or fretting wear will cause the teeth to become thin and lose their function. In terms of design, the PV value should be controlled so that it does not exceed the limit.
